WWW Wednesday – 18 January 2023

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words, where bloggers share the books that they’ve recently finished, what they are currently reading and what books they are planning to read next. Essentially you have to answer three questions (the Three Ws):

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

So, let’s get to it.

What are you currently reading?

#MurderFunding by Gretchen McNeil (Hardcover)

After having it on my to-read list for years, this week I finally started reading the awesome young adult thriller, #MurderFunding by Gretchen McNeil.  The bloody sequel to the outstanding novel, #MurderTrending (which also had a prequel, #NoEscape), #MurderFunding deals with the insane consequences of the first book, while a nefarious group organize a new, bloody reality tv show.  I have made a bit of progress with this book in the last couple of days, and so far it is proving to be a very fun and compelling read.  I will hopefully finish it off by the end of the week and I am looking forward to seeing what insanity McNeil loaded into this fantastic novel.

Warhammer 40,000: Malleus by Dan Abnett (Audiobook)

Warhammer 40,000 - Malleus Cover

After absolutely loving the first book in Dan Abnett’s Eisenhorn series, Xenos, I just had to see how the story continued so I started reading the intense and brilliant Malleus.  Continuing the adventures of the determined Inquisitor Eisenhorn, Malleus is an incredible read, loaded with action, intrigue, and a thrilling plot of galaxy-spanning corruption.  Abnett is widely considered one of the best Warhammer 40,000 authors for a reason, and this exceptional novel looks set to get another five-star rating from me.

Warhammer 40,000: Grim Repast by Marc Collins (Audiobook)

Warhammer 40,000 - Grim Repast Cover

A moody and captivating Warhammer Crime novel, Grim Repast effortlessly combines elements of a psychological thriller with the awesome setting of a dark and dying Warhammer 40,000 city.  Highly recommend with my review to follow soon.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Downfall by Louise Carey (Trade Paperback)

Downfall Cover

I’m hoping to start Louise Carey’s latest science fiction novel, Downfall, next and boy is it going to be something special.  The thrilling final installment in Carey’s Inscape series, Downfall will pit a small team of rebels against a powerful, mind-crushing corporation in a dystopian future. Sure to be an epic read, I am very excited for Downfall.
