What are you currently reading:
Bad Neighbours by Joanna Jenkins (Trade Paperback)
I just started reading new Joanna Jenkins crime fiction novel, Bad Neighbours. The follow-up to Jenkins’ previous Australian books, How to Kill a Client and The Bluff, Bad Neighbours will follow the author’s recurring protagonist as she investigates a murder in her elite Sydney apartment complex. I’ve only made a little progress with Bad Neighbours so far, but I’m already curious about how its mystery is going to unwind.
Warhammer 40,000: Ghosts of Cadia by Rob Young (Audiobook)
I was in the mood for some fun Warhammer 40,000 action, so I decided to check out the latest Rob Young novel Ghosts of Cadia. The sequel to Young’s previous novel, Longshot, Ghosts of Cadia is another compelling, action-charged read that follows a band of snipers as they attempt to survive another brutal battleground. I’m having an absolute blast with this audiobook and I’m hoping to finish it off in the next week.
What did you recently finish reading?
The Bone Docs by Matthew Scura (ebook)
I managed to quickly finish off the entertaining thriller The Bone Docs by Matthew Scura this week. A unique survival thriller that sees dentists and chiropractors come to blows while trapped on a desert island, The Bone Docs was really fun and I’m hoping to get a review up for it soon.
Soulsmith by Will Wight (Audiobook)
I also managed to finish up the second book in Will Wight’s Cradle series, Soulsmith. An intriguing sequel that takes the protagonist away from his home valley into a world of insanely powerful people, Soulsmith was an outstanding read that I couldn’t stop listening to. An excellent second entry in a fantasy series I’m probably going to read a lot of in the coming year.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Stay Buried by Jane R. Miles
The next book I’m hoping to dive into is the Australian thriller debut, Stay Buried by Jane R. Miles. One of the more intriguing sounding debuts of 2026, Stay Buried has a dark mystery tied into the disappearance of four young girls in the aftermath of Cyclone Tracy. I’m really curious about how this book is going to turn out, and I think it has some interesting potential.
