Book Haul – 10 May 2020

I’ve been a bit slack in my content creation over the last few days, so I thought I’d do a Book Haul post to get the content train rolling for the next week.  I have managed to get several amazing books over the last week, mostly in a big parcel of books I got yesterday. There are some pretty amazing novels in this haul, and I am deeply excited for all of them, as they sound pretty damn awesome.

The Grove of the Caesars by Lindsey Davis

First on the list is the latest novel from one of my favourite historical fiction authors, Lindsey Davis.  The Grove of the Caesars is the 8th book in the Flavia Albia series, which I have been really enjoying over the last few years.  This latest book has a really cool mystery behind it and I will probably start reading The Grove of the Caesars next.

Stormblood by Jeremy Szal

This is another one that I have really looking forward to.  Stormblood is a rather amazing sounding science fiction debut from Australian author Jeremy Szal, and I think that it has a lot of potential to be an awesome read.

Hitler’s Peace by Philip Kerr

Hitler's Peace Cover

This one is a rather interesting novel that I am hoping to read soon as well.  This is a reprint of a novel released back in 2005, by the late Philip Kerr, who unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago.  Kerr was a master of the historical thriller, having written a huge number of excellent novels over the years.  I am looking forward to reading another one of his books, especially as Hitler’s Peace has a cool alternate history element to it, which should prove to be really fascinating.

Lionheart by Ben Kane

Lionheart Cover

Another great historical fiction novel that I am really excited about.  Lionheart is the latest novel from bestselling author Ben Kane, which will chronicle the life of King Richard the Lionheart.  I am looking forward to seeing Kane’s take on King Richard’s epic life, and this should be a rather impressive book.

Find Them Dead by Peter James

The 16th book in the Detective Superintendent Roy Grace series from bestselling author Peter James.  This sounds like a rather intriguing crime fiction novel, and it should make for a great read.

Maker’s Curse by Trudi Canavan

Maker's Curse Cover

This is the fourth and final book in the Millennium’s Rule series from fantasy author Trudi Canavan.  I’m not too familar with the series, but it sounds like it could be a fun book to check out, I guess I’ll just have to see how accessible this final novel is to new readers.

That’s the end of this book haul, and as you can see I’ve got some rather interesting new books to check out.  I best hurry up and get through what I’m reading at the moment, because the to-read pile of books is getting bigger and bigger every day.  Let me know which of these books interests you the most in the comments below and I’ll try and review it as soon as I can.

The fourth book in the amazing DC Icons series, I enjoyed the last book in the series and I featured Dawnbreaker in one of my Waiting on Wednesday entries.

Not my usual sort of book, but it has an intriguing concept and could be fun.

Star Wars: Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith – Fortress Vader

Fortress Vader

The latest volume in one of my favourite current comic book series, this should be epic.  Make sure to check out my reviews for the second and third volume of Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith.

Firefly: The Magnificent Nine by James Lovegrove

I only just got this one today and I am stoked.  I have been looking forward to it for a couple of months now and it should be pretty epic.  Expect a review for it soon.
